The neck I'm using for the Rosewood Wizard is five ply laminated mahogany and maple with a rosewood center line. I made two of these necks using 5" x 24" boards of various thickness which I laminated and then cut to shape on the band saw. After squaring the surfaces and routing the dovetail, I used the template I made to outline the necks profile.
The cut went well, as I was able to use the laser I recently rigged up on the band saw to make more precise freehand rip cuts.
I'm afraid not much else has been done to move this project forward. Brief illness and necessary parts replacements caused delays, however things are moving forward on both build projects now and I'll have much more to report in the next blog post.
